HEART TIMING SIGNAL

HRV signal used to estimate the spectrum of the modulating input m(t) when the IPFM model is assumed

If tn is the occurrence time of the n-th R-wave, the heart timing signal ht(tn) is defined as:

ht(tn)=nT-tn
where T is the mean heart period in the time of analysis. It can be shown that ht(tn) is equal to the integral of m(t) sampled at times tn. The relation between the Fourier transforms of ht(t), HT(), and of m(t), M(), is:
 HT()=M()/(j)
