FOURIER SERIES

Decomposition of a periodic signal into a series of sine and cosine waves.

The frequencies of the sines and cosines functions are multiple of the fundamental frequency, ie multiple of the reciprocal of the signal period. If x(t) is periodic of period T, then it can be expressed as the following series:
