COARSE GRAINING SPECTRAL ANALYSIS

Technique useful to separate random fractal components from a time series in the frequency domain.

The CGSA technique is used to analyse power law fractals, i.e., time series which exhibit power law behaviour in the Fourier spectrum (please note that there are many deterministic chaotic systems which do not exhibit power law spectra).
